Lisa Carson

Board Member

Lisa Carson is a member of Buerger, Moseley and Carson, PLC in Franklin, where she splits her law practice between health care operations law and municipal and employment litigation, including representation of Williamson County and several smaller municipalities across the state.  Lisa is a 1991 honors graduate of Vanderbilt University School of Law.  Prior to attending Vanderbilt, Lisa graduated from Franklin High School and obtained a Bachelor of Science degree from Belmont University.

Community involvement is very important to Lisa. She is a member of the Franklin Breakfast Rotary, the Advisory Board of Directors of the Franklin Boys and Girls Club, and the Women Rock for Charity Ambassador Club in addition to her membership on our board.  She serves on the Staff Parish Relations Committee and Building Committee for her church, is the Chancellor for the Tennessee Conference of the United Methodist Church and a member of the Committee on Legal Responsibilities & Corporate Governance of the General Council on Finance and Administration for the United Methodist Church.  She is a Fellow of the Tennessee Bar Foundation and a member of the Williamson County Bar Association, the Tennessee Bar Association, the American Bar Association litigation section and the Tennessee County Attorneys’ Association.

Lisa, her husband Byron, and their two dogs Hank and Hope are long-time residents of Franklin.  Lisa is a member of our board because she believes that we are stewards of God’s creatures and owe our furry friends our very best in exchange for the value they add to our lives.  She served as secretary of the Board in 2013 and 2014 and continues as a member, lending assistance on legal matters as needed.  Lisa believes that the work of our organization helps to improve the lives of pets in our communities and their humans through programs that serve not only one animal at a time but also the bigger picture through community pet food banks, spay/neuter programs, and other “gifts that keep on giving.”
