Emily Magid

Board Member

Emily Magid has been Vice President of FWCAC for the last two years and was Treasurer for the three years before. She was born in Nashville, TN and has resided in Franklin for 18 years. She graduated from Peabody/Vanderbilt with a BA in History and Psychology. She also attended Stephens College and Katharine Gibbs Secretarial School in Boston.

Emily's love and concern for animals has been apparent since early childhood. She worked for 17 years in veterinarian's offices and has fostered animals continually throughout her life. She is on the Advisory Board of Walden's Puddle, which is a wild life sanctuary. Her other communal commitments are board member of the Heritage Foundation, the Franklin Theatre and Advisory Boards of Harpeth River Watershed Association, Franklin Housing Authority, Habitat for Humanity and past board member of Alcohol & Drug Council of Middle Tennessee and Franklin Citizens Police Academy Alumni Association. She was on the Mayor's Commission for Affordable Workforce Housing, Animal Control Task Force and the Old BGA Grounds. She has a conservation easement on her property for the Land Trust of Tennessee.

Emily has four cats and a varied wild life population on her acreage. Her belief in Friends of Williamson County Animal Center stems from her knowledge of the dedicated work of all involved and the well-being of the animals that it helps to fund in various ways.
