Dana Ausbrooks with Atticus
Dana Ausbrooks
Board Member
Dana Ausbrooks is proud to call Williamson County her home for over thirty years. In 2014, she was elected to serve as a County Commissioner for the 12th District. Dana is a skilled attorney, criminal law professor, and business owner. Practicing law for over fifteen years, she currently represents clients in Williamson County and all counties in Middle Tennessee. In addition to running her own law practice, Dana uses her legal skills and knowledge as a criminal law adjunct professor at the Williamson County campus of Columbia State Community College.
Dana has always actively pursued opportunities to give back to her community and to her profession by serving as President of the Williamson County Bar Association as well as a board member in local organizations including the Tennessee Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, My Friend’s House, CASA, Banebow, and Republican Women of Williamson County.
Her dog, Atticus, a WCAC alum, was rescued by her in January of 2015. Atticus won the title of Kuranda’s Dog of the Month in June, 2015 and won beds for the dogs at Williamson County Animal Center. Dana became involved with Friends of WCAC because giving back makes one feel good. Giving a voice to those who can’t speak for themselves is a powerful feeling. Helping provide the necessary resources so that the staff and volunteers at WCAC can find a loving home for the shelter residents is rewarding. When a dog or cat walks out the door of WCAC and finds a forever home, you realize – “this is why I am here.”
